ANDY CHEN is a senior managing associate in Sidley’s Houston office where he advises clients on debt financings, including corporate lending transactions and leveraged acquisition financings, in the oil and gas exploration and production, midstream and oilfield services sectors. Andy represents both capital providers and borrowers in connection with credit facilities and note purchase facilities, including acquisition financings, reserved-based lending facilities, second lien credit facilities and cash flow loans.
Andy earned his J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law. While attending law school, Andy was a member of the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology and interned for the Office of Virginia Attorney General and on Capitol Hill for the Senate Judiciary Committee. Andy graduated with a B.A. in Economics and a B.A.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania.
Before becoming a lawyer, Andy, while attending university, co-founded a summer science camp for underprivileged middle school students in the Philadelphia area.
