KEITH B. DELEON is a member of the capital markets team in the firm’s New York office.
He spent over 20 years in senior positions at two major global banks, in legal and business roles. Prior to joining Sidley, he was a managing director and associate general counsel at the largest German bank leading a team of attorneys with responsibility for all U.S. capital markets transactions including equity and debt capital markets, leveraged finance, liability management, debt private placements, commercial paper, structured notes and emerging markets. In addition, he was the head of a newly created strategic advisory and execution function that leveraged his extensive legal and business experience focusing on first-time issuers and complex transactions involving corporates, sovereigns, supranationals and agencies accessing the global capital markets.
Prior to going in-house, Keith was an associate at a New York law firm and another major national law firm in New York.
In 2017, he received the IFLR Debt Capital Markets Team of the Year Award on behalf of his in-house legal team.
Keith is often asked to comment on industry trends, including the impact of COVID-19. He is quoted in “Time Consuming and Intense: Due Diligence for Today’s Debt Deals,” an article based on a presentation given to NeuGroup members on the impacts of COVID-19 on capital markets disclosure and diligence.
