JERRY FORD II focuses his practice on corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate governance, capital markets, and shareholder activism. Prior to joining Sidley, Jerry worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission headquarters in Washington, D.C., as an honor extern within the Division of Enforcement.
Jerry received his J.D., cum laude, from Howard University School of Law, where he served as a teaching fellow, and as a member of the Huver I. Brown National Mock Trial team. Jerry also served as a student attorney at Howard University's Investor Justice and Education Clinic, where he represented senior investors in arbitration cases before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Jerry received his Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) from the Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston. Additionally, Jerry received his B.A. at Texas Southern University. While at Texas Southern University, Jerry was a member of the NCAA Division 1 baseball program, where he was named to the NCAA Southwestern Athletic All-Conference team five times during his career.
