JOHN L. GIBBONS is a managing associate in the litigation group who represents individuals and corporate clients in appeals, civil litigation, and various stages of government and internal investigations. John’s recent matters include representing a leading medical-device manufacturer in products-liability litigation involving allegations of manufacturing and design defect in state and federal courts.
Prior to joining the firm, John clerked for the Honorable Thomas R. Lee of the Utah Supreme Court and for the Honorable Joan L. Larsen of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. John was also an associate at a large litigation firm in Los Angeles, California, where he represented an investment group in a dispute about debt obligations worth over one billion euros.
John earned his law degree, summa cum laude, from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark School of Law, where he was a senior editor for the BYU Law Review. During law school, John interned in the office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah; for the Honorable David Sam of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah; and for the Honorable Carolyn B. McHugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Brigham Young University.
