CRAIG A. GRIFFITH focuses his practice on securitization and structured finance, which includes term and conduit executions involving a variety of assets including consumer loan contracts, insurance commission receivables, structured settlements, equipment leases, collateralized fund transactions, automobile loans and leases, and other consumer assets. Transaction structures have included, among others, direct asset purchases, master trusts and whole business securitizations. Craig has also been involved in the structuring and formation of several medium-term note programs and asset-backed commercial paper conduits, including conduits issuing extendible and callable paper. His clients include commercial and investment banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions.
In addition to having served on the firm’s Executive Committee, Craig is co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee, and is committed to addressing issues regarding the advancement of diverse lawyers in the legal profession. Chicago United selected Craig as one of their “2017 Business Leaders of Color.” Furthermore, in 2018, Craig was named to Crain’s “Chicago’s Notable Minority Lawyers” list. Craig is also a former firmwide co-chair of the firm’s Committee on Compensation and Evaluation of Associates.
Prior to joining the firm, Craig was an auditor with the Chicago office of the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand LLP. He left Coopers & Lybrand as an audit manager in 1987.
Craig is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and a member of the Board of Directors of the Lupus Society of Illinois.
