CHRIS JUAREZ is a managing associate in Sidley’s Los Angeles office and is a member of the Real Estate practice. He participated in Sidley’s Diversity Summer Mentorship Program. Chris earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was an executive board member of the Stanford Latino Law Students Association and served as an extern at the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning. He received his B.A. in political science, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Southern California.

Chris has assisted with the representation of:
- Pension fund in connection with the acquisition and financing of multiple luxury apartment buildings.
- Pension fund in connection with the disposition of a first-class commercial office park.
- Lender in connection with a US$100 million+ multi-phase construction loan.
- Lender in connection with the origination of multiple US$300 million+ mortgage and mezzanine loans secured by first-class commercial office parks, and subsequent syndication and sales of such loans.
- Owner-operator of single-family homes in connection with numerous financings and securitizations.
Chris was part of a team that obtained a significant victory on behalf of a client who was sexually assaulted while serving in the U.S. Air Force. The team appealed the Department of Veterans Affairs initially assigned 50% disability rating, including an award of US$905/month, arguing that the veteran had more severe symptoms than a 50% rating reflected and was eligible for a higher rating and Total Disability due to Individual Unemployability. The appeal was granted and resulted in a payment increase to US$3,146/month and over US$200,000 in back pay.
