JAMES KELLY is an associate in the Global Finance group, where he focuses his practice on finance transactions, including acquisition financing, reserve and asset-based lending, leveraged lending, investment-grade lending, mezzanine financing, and subordinated debt financing. James additionally has experience in debtor-in-possession and exit financings, as well as workouts and debt restructuring. James primarily represents private equity sponsors, financial institutions, and public and private borrowers and issuers.
James earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he graduated first in his class. While in law school, he was Editor-in-Chief of the Mississippi Law Journal and the Federal Courts Law Review. Additionally, he competed as a member of the Moot Court Board, winning titles at the national and state level. James also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael P. Mills of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi and the Honorable Neil P. Olack of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. Prior to attending law school, James received his A.B. in Government from Georgetown University.
