EMMA KURS focuses her practice on commercial disputes, professional liability, and securities litigation. Emma has experience practicing in state and federal court, including defending accounting firms. Her litigation experience includes drafting dispositive motions, appellate briefs, and working with expert witnesses, including liability and damages experts.
Prior to joining Sidley, Emma clerked for The Honorable Joel M. Flaum of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and The Honorable Robert M. Dow, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Emma graduated cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Emma served as an articles editor for the Northwestern University Law Review and as a co-president of the Collaboration for Justice.
Emma graduated summa cum laude from Skidmore College with a B.A. in government.
