LINH LIEU’s practice focuses on advising public-listed companies, licensed corporations and individuals on compliance and regulatory matters. Linh has deep experience in handling complex securities regulation matters, white collar investigations and defense as well as corporate risk management: including contingency planning, crisis handling, reputational risk management and stakeholder management. She has been representing clients in a wide range of compliance matters in relation to public misstatement, insider trading, bribery and corruption, fraud, anti-money laundering, internal controls and disclosure of interests.
She has counseled clients on cross-border regulatory and criminal matters involving the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (HKEX), Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) and the Market Misconduct Tribunal (MMT).
In addition, Linh has experience in commercial dispute resolutions and handles arbitration cases. She has acted for clients before the International Criminal Court (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).
Linh’s major clients include the boards, special committees and senior management of major public-listed companies, multi-national corporations and state-owned enterprises on matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Prior to joining Sidley, Linh seconded as senior in-house legal counsel at two major international banks where she advised on regulatory, litigation and global internal investigations matters.
Linh is a native Cantonese and English speaker, and fluent in Mandarin and Teochew.
