JORGE E. MANCILLAS is an associate in the New York office and a member of the firm’s Capital Markets group. Jorge focuses his practice on corporate and securities law matters. He represents both issuers and underwriters in a variety of public and private transactions of debt and equity securities.
While attending the University of Michigan Law School, Jorge was the Executive Online Editor of the Michigan Law Review, co-president of the Latino Law Students Association, and a student attorney at the Federal Appellate Litigation Clinic and Child Advocacy Law Clinic. He was also the recipient of the Juan Luis Tienda Scholarship, an award given annually to outstanding law students who have demonstrated a commitment to working in undeserved Latino communities. Additionally, Jorge was a graduate student instructor for the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan, where he taught Spanish to undergraduate students.
Prior to joining Sidley, Jorge was a judicial intern for the Honorable Nelson S. Román of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Jorge is a native Spanish speaker.
