MONICA A. NORZAGARAY PEDRAZA is an associate in the Insurance and Financial Services group of the firm’s Chicago office. Prior to joining Sidley, Monica was a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Graduate Fellow at Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO).
Monica received her Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degrees from the University of Chicago Law School, where she was a recipient of a Fulbright Garcia-Robles Scholarship and a Russell Baker Scholarship.
Prior to completing her J.D., she worked as a foreign lawyer at international firms in New York and Chicago for more than two years working on a diverse range of M&A, capital markets, and finance transactions.
Prior to completing her LL.M., she worked as a corporate lawyer in Mexico City, Mexico. In 2011, Monica taught Public International Law as an adjunct professor at Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City, where she also received her LL.B. with Honors.
