MARIANA ORBAY is a member of the M&A and Private Equity practices in Sidley’s Century City office. Her practice involves advising and representing various companies and sources of capital in M&A, private equity, and commercial transactions.
Mariana earned her J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and a Certificate in Law and Entrepreneurship from the Palmer Center. During her tenure as the Symposium Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, Mariana organized the symposium, Hindsight is 2020: A Look at Unresolved Issues in Music Copyright Law, and her article “Songwriters v. Spotify: Is Spotify the Problem or a Symptom of the Problem?” was published in Volume 48 of the Pepperdine Law Review. Mariana also served as an extern for the Honorable Dolly M. Gee of the U.S. District Court of the Central District of California.
Prior to law school, Mariana was a tour manager at Quincy Jones Productions and the founder of a small talent firm, Rebel’s Cause.
