C.K. KEVIN PARK is a managing associate in the Washington, D.C. office and is a member of the Banking and Financial Services practice. Prior to joining Sidley, Kevin was a financial services associate for a national law firm, where he primarily represented payment processors, money transmitters, and FinTech firms on a range of financial services matters, including regulatory compliance and enforcement, government investigations, M&A regulatory due diligence, and civil litigation.
His representative experience includes:
- Represented a private equity firm in connection with its acquisition of a consumer financial services company, including conducting the regulatory due diligence, obtaining regulatory approvals on a nationwide basis, and performing post-transaction remediation of the company’s compliance program.
- Represented payment processors and payment facilitators through multiple investigations from state regulators as well as ongoing compliance efforts.
- Advise and represent start-ups and established financial services institutions on all aspects of their virtual currency services including evaluation of regulatory issues, state licensing, interfacing with state regulatory agencies, and creation of their customers agreements, disclosures, anti-money laundering procedures and other corporate policies.
Kevin earned his J.D. with honors from The George Washington University Law School and received a B.A. in political science and a B.S. in management science (econometrics) from the University of California San Diego.
