KETAN PATEL focuses his practice on patent litigation matters on behalf of a wide range of clients across several venues including various district courts, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the International Trade Commission.
Prior to joining Sidley, Ketan was an associate at another major law firm where he practiced in the patent litigation group. He has litigated issues across a diverse range of technologies, including audio and video processing, GPS location tracking, printers, digital photography, smartphones, telecommunications and networking software and hardware. He has been a member of multiple trial teams in a variety of jurisdictions, including the Northern District of California, Eastern District of Texas, Western District of Pennsylvania and the International Trade Commission. These matters involved working with expert witnesses, conducting depositions, preparing witnesses for depositions and trial, arguing motions, drafting opening and closing statements, preparing for cross-examinations of expert and fact witnesses, and drafting petitions, hearing statements, motions, briefs and other filings.
Previously, Ketan clerked in the state and district courts of Delaware.
