MARC PIETROPAOLI advises investment advisory firms, fund sponsors, and other asset managers in a variety of formation, transactional, and regulatory matters. His practice focuses on the structuring, operation, and offerings of U.S. and non-U.S. private funds, including hedge funds and private equity funds.
Marc also counsels investment advisers on regulatory and compliance issues, including SEC registration, the development of compliance programs, regulatory filings, and SEC examinations. He regularly advises private fund sponsors on fund governance, disclosure, and regulatory developments affecting the industry, and has experience representing clients in mergers and acquisitions within the investment management and private equity sectors.
Marc earned his B.A. from Boston College and his J.D., summa cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law, where he served as executive editor of the Syracuse Law Review. In 2023, he graduated as valedictorian, was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and received the “Scribes Award” for excellence in legal writing.
