SARAH PREISLER’s practice focuses on structuring and negotiating relationships involving intellectual property across a wide range of industries, including SaaS, big data, digital payments, autonomous vehicles, life sciences, biotechnology, financial services, eCommerce, digital & social media, information technology, entertainment, AgTech and CleanTech. She works with companies at all stages of development, from start-ups to major industry leaders, and has particular experience in structuring and drafting complex collaboration agreements and joint ventures, in addition to licensing, distribution, supply, and services agreements.
Ms. Preisler began her legal career at one of the top technology law firms in Silicon Valley, where she represented companies building and providing content for the emerging digital realm, including Disney Online, A&M Records, Global Village Communications, and Wireless Access. After working as in-house counsel at Disney Online, she was tapped to become Director of Business Development for EXPN.com (part of ESPN Action Sports) where she and the rest of the team took the concept of an integrated online and television hub for action sports from an idea to a fully developed brand and media platform within seven months. Ms. Preisler left EXPN to co-found Phyla Crossmedia, a lifestyle and online brand strategy, marketing and design firm, which was later acquired by Fitch, Inc. After returning to graduate school to get her Masters in Landscape Architecture and working for several years in urban ecological design, she returned to law. She remains involved in sustainability issues and is active in Sidley’s Emerging Enterprises Pro Bono Program – Trade, Investment and Finance. She received her J.D. from Stanford Law School.
