SARAH RAAII advises public and private clients in employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including health and welfare, 401(k) and pension plans, as well as executive compensation and data privacy compliance. She counsels clients on employee benefits design, diligence, implementation and transition matters arising from corporate and private equity mergers and acquisitions. Sarah’s practice also regularly addresses issues of regulatory compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and the Affordable Care Act.
Prior to joining Sidley, Sarah was an associate in the Chicago office of an international law firm. She previously worked for the National Economic Council at the White House, where she implemented the Affordable Care Act and developed the DOL fiduciary rule with leaders from the Executive Office of the President, the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of the Treasury. Sarah also worked full-time with regulatory in-house counsel and federal and state government relations professionals in the Leadership Development Program of a global insurance and financial services corporation.
Sarah graduated from The University of Iowa College of Law, where she served as a Contributing Editor of the Iowa Law Review. She received her B.B.A. and B.S. from The University of Iowa.
