SEAN RAVEN is counsel in the Litigation group in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on discovery within complex civil litigation in both federal and state courts, as well as white collar and internal investigations.
Sean’s experience includes advising clients on information management and preservation, working with expert and fact witnesses, drafting substantive discovery motions, analysis of expansive data sets, and managing large-scale electronic discovery. He has successfully negotiated protocols for and applied defensible technology-assisted review (TAR) processes, including predictive coding and other machine-learning techniques, in a wide range of matters. Sean also has experience responding to subpoenas from federal agencies, including the Department of Justice, SEC, CFTC, and CME, as well as from state attorneys general.
Prior to joining Sidley, Sean gained experience with mortgage-backed securities litigation and attorney malpractice defense on behalf of a Washington, D.C. law firm.
