JOSH SANDLER is an associate in the Tax group in the firm’s Chicago office.
Prior to joining Sidley, Josh worked as a Graduate Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Fellow at the Loyola Federal Tax Clinic, where he represented low-income taxpayers in controversies with the Internal Revenue Service. He also worked as a judicial extern to the Honorable Joan Lefkow of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Josh graduated cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law in 2019, where he was an associate editor of the Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology. While at Northwestern, Josh won the Hodes Prize for the best paper on local government, entitled Regressive Property Taxes in Cook County. Josh graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.B.A. in Accountancy.
Josh also served four years as an infantry officer in the United States Army, earning the rank of Captain.
