DR. PATRICK SCHULZ focuses on cross-border and domestic corporate restructuring and insolvency matters, often in large-scale, multi-jurisdictional transactions. He advises debtors, shareholders, creditors, creditor committees, alternative capital providers and other financial institutions on all aspects of corporate reorganization, recovery and turnaround matters in both non-insolvency and insolvency situations.
Prior to joining Sidley in 2017, Patrick was an associate in the banking/restructuring and insolvency practice of another international law firm.
While working on his Ph.D., Patrick served for several years as a research associate to the Chair of Civil and Civil Procedure Law at the University of Mainz. His thesis on debt-to-equity-swaps has been awarded with multiple awards for academic excellence. Furthermore, he taught at King’s College London and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens as visiting lecturer.
He is fluent in German and English.
