VISHNU SHANKAR is an experienced EU data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, e-commerce and information technology lawyer. He also negotiates complex technology, outsourcing, intellectual property licensing, and joint venture agreements. Vishnu provides practical and strategic advice to international clients regarding the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), E-Privacy laws, the NIS Directive (Cybersecurity Directive), international data transfers (including the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield) and sector-specific privacy and cybersecurity laws. He also has significant experience in assisting clients with preparing for, and remediating, high-stakes cybersecurity breaches, including responding to regulators. Vishnu also works with clients on ongoing data protection legal reforms that are ongoing in Asia, particularly India’s efforts to enact a new data protection law.
