SAMUEL STENNING advises clients with respect to the structuring, establishment, regulation and operation of alternative investment funds including private equity funds, credit funds, real estate funds and funds of funds. He also advises on corporate, regulatory and general compliance issues for investment funds and their managers. In addition, Samuel’s ongoing work includes advising major institutional investors in connection with their fund investments, co-investments and direct transactions.
Prior to joining Sidley, Samuel trained at and qualified as an associate at another U.S. law firm in London where he worked within the asset management team, advising a broad range of asset managers across a range of asset classes in a number of jurisdictions.

Samuel’s recent experience includes advising:
- A UK private equity sponsor on the establishment of a €475 million first time buyout fund.*
- A global multi-asset sponsor on the establishment of a €1 billion Asian real estate fund.*
- A global multi-asset sponsor on the establishment of a €1 billion fund of funds.*
