RACHEL STIGLER is a technology and IP transactions associate in Sidley’s Palo Alto office and a member of the firm’s Technology Industry group. Rachel’s practice focuses on advising technology companies large and small on a wide range of matters, with a special emphasis on software, social media, e-commerce, data analytics and information technology.
Rachel routinely counsels clients on IP aspects of mergers and acquisitions, and assists clients with structuring and negotiating technology-related commercial transactions, including: strategic alliances; marketing and promotional relationships; joint ventures and partnership agreements; ownership and licensing of copyrights, trademarks, patents and trade secrets; manufacturing, supply and distribution transactions; technology development and distribution; OEM and reseller agreements; inbound and outbound technology licenses; confidentiality agreements; content licensing agreements; and professional services and support.
Prior to practicing law, Rachel spent several years immersed in technology as an architectural designer, graphic designer and digital design professor. Rachel founded the graphic design boutique, Evali Design, where she designed branding identities for emerging companies, and she was an architectural designer for Leeser Architecture and Oppenheim Architecture + Design, where she designed environmentally-conscious architecture at sites throughout the world. During law school, Rachel served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Sheila Finnegan of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
