BILL WILLIAMS is a partner in the Energy group in Sidley’s Washington, D.C., office. He joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office in 2006. His practice deals primarily with the representation of interstate gas and oil pipelines and other clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He advises clients involved in litigation or commercial transactions with regulated companies and also represents clients in FERC Enforcement proceedings. He currently serves as regulatory counsel for TransCanada’s Keystone oil pipeline and a number of FERC-regulated gas pipelines, including , Alliance Pipeline, National Fuel Gas Supply Corp., and Empire Pipeline. He previously advised the Alaska Pipeline Project jointly sponsored by TransCanada and ExxonMobil.
Mr. Williams is consistently selected as one of the top U.S. energy lawyers in Chambers USA and in The Best Lawyers in America. He was also ranked among the top attorneys in the Energy & Natural Resources Practice Field in the District of Columbia according to Chambers & Partners, USA.
