LOUISA WONG is a member of Sidley’s multidisciplinary China Corporate and Finance group. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, contentious regulatory matters, and international arbitration. She has experience in advising Hong Kong listed companies, multinational and PRC state-owned enterprises in a broad range of commercial litigation and arbitral matters, including cross-border contractual disputes, joint venture and shareholder disputes, and debt recovery. She also has experience advising on regulatory investigations conducted by regulatory and enforcement authorities, including the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Securities and Futures Commission, and Commercial Crime Bureau. When Louisa worked in the Competition team of a Silver Circle firm in London, she worked on matters involving investigations by the UK Competition and Markets Authority, the Financial Conduct Authority, and assisted in preparing a complaint to a sector regulator.
Louisa was ranked as a Rising Star by Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2024 in Regulatory in Hong Kong. She was praised by her clients as “conscientious and proactive in her work and well versed in contentious regulatory matters”, and that “[h]er outstanding Mandarin capability makes her highly valued in the current legal industry, particularly in advising PRC clients as she is able to deliver advice in a clear and relatable manner.” She was also recognized as a key lawyer in Restructuring and Insolvency by Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2023.
