Sidley received a 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI), ranking among a select group of organizations honored as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.” This marks the twelfth year in a row that Sidley has earned a perfect score on the CEI.
The annual CEI is a national benchmarking tool assessing corporate policies affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees. These include workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive healthcare benefits, competency programs and public engagement.
Sidley’s LGBTQ lawyers practice in each of our domestic offices, serve on firm leadership committees and actively support LGBTQ organizations in their local communities. In the past year, Sidley lawyers provided pro bono services in a number of political asylum and immigrants’ right cases for openly gay, HIV+ or transgender clients, and for clients in adoption/parental rights cases, supporting the Human Rights Campaign, The Trevor Project, Immigration Equality, the National Immigrant Justice Center’s LGBT Immigrant Rights Initiative and Whitman-Walker Health.
The values of diversity and inclusion are integral to our firm and to our clients. We remain committed to fostering a workplace culture where all lawyers and staff feel welcome. Please visit Diversity and Inclusion at Sidley to read more about our firm’s LGBTQ initiatives.
