Sidley is representing American National Group, Inc. as lead transaction counsel in its acquisition by Brookfield Asset Management Reinsurance Partners Ltd. in a transaction valued at US$5.1 billion. Founded in 1905 by William L. Moody, Jr., and headquartered in Galveston, Texas, American National Group operates in all 50 states and provides a large line of insurance products and services. The transaction will help Brookfield Asset Management continue to expand its insurance business, and is expected to close in the first half of 2022, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
