JIM BISHOP is a member of Sidley’s Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice where he advises on a wide range of corporate matters to support clients in the technology and life sciences industries.
Prior to joining Sidley, Jim was an associate a leading Silicon Valley law firm focusing on technology and life sciences industries as well as a large multinational law firm where he represented clients in corporate and securities related matters. Before attending law school, Jim was an executive producer with a major interactive game studio.
Jim was named by Best Lawyers in America to its Ones to Watch list for Corporate Law (2021) and was selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star (2021).
During law school, Jim was an articles editor for the Cornell Law Review. He was also the recipient of the 2011 Fraser Prize and the Rosenbloom Prize for Excellence in Law and Finance. After law school, Jim served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Debra L. Stephens of the Washington Supreme Court.
