ALEXIS BUESE is a partner in the firm’s Century City office. She is a litigator practicing in all aspects of commercial litigation including contract disputes, real estate and consumer class action litigation. Alexis is a member of Sidley’s California Consumer Privacy Litigation Task Force, a dedicated group of lawyers focusing specifically on litigation involving the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). She has significant experience enforcing arbitral rights and awards and routinely consults with clients and transactional counsel to provide advice respecting the drafting and enforcement of alternative dispute provisions. As part of her counseling practice Alexis advises clients on creating enforceable e-commerce agreements, including the drafting and implementation of effective terms and conditions. Alexis has represented individual and business clients in federal and state courts, as well as complex international arbitrations.
Alexis also represents purchasers, sellers, lessees and lessors, developers and owners and has extensive experience prosecuting and defending large-scale contract and partnership disputes. She also has a wealth of experience efficiently defending and resolving lawsuits alleging deceptive consumer practices as a result of purported false labeling and misleading marketing. Alexis has additional experience handling high-stakes and complex bankruptcy litigation matters representing both creditors and debtors.
Alexis has been a featured panelist at numerous conferences and events addressing arbitration, judicial reference and other contractual provisions implicated in disputes, as well as creating enforceable website terms and conditions. Recognized by her peers as one of the top young lawyers in Southern California, Alexis was named a “Super Lawyers Rising Star” in 2013–2018 (Los Angeles Magazine) and was also recognized as one of the “Top Women Attorneys in Southern California” (Los Angeles Magazine) in 2013–2015.
Alexis is a member of the Committee for Training and Professional Development and the Committee on Promotion and Retention of Women and the Recruiting Committee. She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola Law School Los Angeles, and her B.A., cum laude, from Tulane University.
