KATHY CABRAL represents clients which include commercial banks, investment banks, private equity funds, and public and private corporations in their capacities as agents, lenders, sponsors, originators or borrowers in a variety of financial transactions. Her practice focuses on the representation of such parties in secured and unsecured credit facilities and structured finance transactions. She has experience in single currency, multi-currency, cross-border, multi-borrower, syndicated and single bank lending transactions, as well as merger and acquisition financing and restructuring. Kathy has worked on transactions across various industries and asset classes including energy production and distribution, financial services, publishing, REITs, shipping containers, student loans, trade receivables, and timeshare interests.
Kathy’s practice also includes a focus on secured transactions under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code, including working with other Sidley colleagues on addressing recent emerging technology and related amendments to the UCC and implementing commercial approaches to address the same on behalf of clients.
Kathy graduated from Dartmouth College in 2001, and from Northwestern University School of Law cum laude in 2005.
