Daniel S.W. Choi is a partner in the Global Finance group in the New York office of Sidley Austin LLP.
Mr. Choi’s practice is concentrated in all aspects of structured finance with a focus on real estate capital markets transactions. Mr. Choi represents issuers/depositors, originators/loan sellers and underwriters/initial purchasers in a broad range of public and private offerings of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), including pooled conduit, single-asset (“stand-alone”), large loan (“floater”) and re-REMIC securitization transactions. Mr. Choi has also represented placement agents in connection with the structuring and offering of CMBS on an “agented” basis. Mr. Choi also represents lenders and investors in connection with A/A (pari passu), A/B (senior/subordinate) and mezzanine loan structures through intercreditor agreements and participation agreements.
Mr. Choi graduated from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was chosen as the President’s Fellow for Political Science, and Rutgers Law School, Newark, New Jersey.
