MARÍA CAROLINA DURÁN focuses her practice on international dispute settlement, particularly investment treaty arbitration and international commercial arbitration. She has represented governments, as well as investors, in proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and its Additional Facility, as well as in arbitrations under the Arbitration Rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). María Carolina focuses most of her practice on the Latin American region. In addition, she has experience in the assessment of potential investment claims and the implementation of Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs), World Trade Organization Agreements and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), such as NAFTA and the FTA between Colombia and the United States.
