SAM HOOPER is an associate in Sidley’s Houston office whose practice focuses on project development, M&A, and finance in the electric power industry. Sam primarily works in the renewable power space with an emphasis on utility-scale and distributed-generation solar. Since beginning his practice in 2019, he has closed over 20 distributed-generation solar M&A transactions.
Sam received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center where he graduated magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, he served as an articles editor for the Houston Law Review. Sam is a classically trained composer with a B.M. in Music Composition from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music.
