CHRISTIAN MUTONE is an associate in the Real Estate group in Sidley’s office in New York. Christian’s practice focuses on the financing, development, acquisition, and disposition of commercial real estate properties and seniors housing. He represents financial institutions in real estate finance and development in connection with the origination of mortgage and mezzanine loans, including construction loans and credit enhancement of tax-exempt bonds for the financing of affordable multifamily housing. Christian also has experience representing private equity investors and REITs in the formation and operation of joint ventures, and has represented financial institutions in connection with the origination of commercial mortgage warehouse lending facilities.
Prior to joining the Real Estate group, Christian was a member of the Global Finance group at Sidley. He represented issuers and underwriters in the issuance of residential mortgage-backed securities, as well as financial institutions with the negotiation of residential mortgage loan purchase agreements.
Christian received his B.A., magna cum laude, from New York University and his J.D. from Boston College Law School, where he was a member of the Housing Law Clinic at Boston College Legal Assistance Bureau. He is fluent in Spanish and conversant in Italian.
