DAVE RODY is a former federal prosecutor with extensive trial and investigative experience in both the public and private sectors, including as a long-time senior unit chief in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Dave has served as lead or co-lead counsel in 16 significant federal trials on matters ranging from insider trading and drug diversion, to terrorism and capital murder. He has also directed investigations in a wide variety of matters, including securities fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, bribery, off-label promotion, FCA/AKS violations, MARPOL offenses, obstruction of justice, extortion, and racketeering. Dave has also briefed and argued numerous criminal appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
As a partner in Sidley’s White Collar: Government Litigation and Investigations practice, Dave's practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, securities enforcement matters, internal corporate investigations, corporate compliance counseling, FDA enforcement matters, and commercial litigation and disputes. He regularly represents individuals and corporations before the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York State Attorney General’s Office, the New York State Department of Financial Services, and other government and regulatory agencies.
