ALYSSA RUSSELL’s practice focuses on all aspects of corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, and distressed asset acquisitions. Alyssa is an associate in the firm’s Chicago office and practices in the Restructuring group.
Prior to joining Sidley, Alyssa worked as an associate at an international law firm in Chicago, where she focused on all aspects of corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings. Her past experience includes representing chapter 11 debtors in a variety of industries, including a major casino entertainment enterprise, various energy companies, and a leading designer, manufacturer and wholesale distributor of jeanswear, footwear, and women’s apparel and accessories. Alyssa also has prior experience representing debtors in out-of-court restructurings and chapter 15 recognition proceedings.
Alyssa received her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School, magna cum laude. During her time at Notre Dame, she served as the notes editor of the Notre Dame Journal of International & Comparative Law and participated in various organizations, such as the Business Law Forum and Phi Alpha Delta. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Canisius College, summa cum laude.
