MICHAEL H. YANOWITCH, senior counsel in the New York office, concentrates in international and domestic corporate acquisitions, private equity, divestitures and joint ventures, but also has significant experience in lending transactions, corporate restructurings, securities offerings and securitizations. In addition to being trained as a lawyer, Mr. Yanowitch has both an MBA and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has extensive experience in representing accounting and consulting firms in corporate transactions, as well as banks, finance companies, brokerage firms and other participants in the financial services industry. His cross border experience has included transactions in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, the UK, Italy, Australia and Hong Kong.
Mr. Yanowitch was recognized in Corporate and M&A in Latin Lawyer Magazine 2019 and was “recommended for M&A” in The Legal 500 for Latin America 2013–2014.
Mr. Yanowitch received a Baccalauréat from Lycée Antoine de St. Exupèry in Lyon, France. He was one of the founding lawyers in Sidley’s New York office, having started his career in the firm’s Chicago office following stages with law firms in Paris and Rome. He is fluent in French and has moderate proficiency in Italian and Spanish. He has also studied German, Dutch, Portuguese, Latin and Modern Greek.
