Working Mother today named Sidley to its annual list of the “Best Law Firm for Women” for the 10th year. This prestigious list recognizes firms that have instituted best-in-class initiatives aimed at retaining and promoting women lawyers.
Law firm selection criteria is based on a rigorous application process that examines factors such as female lawyer representation, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves and development and retention of women.
Sidley is a recognized leader in the advancement of women lawyers, having launched some the nation’s first formal parental leave and reduced work schedule policies among law firms. Most recently, efforts by the Executive Committee Task Force on Retention and Promotion of Women have achieved materials advances for women lawyers at the firm. These include bringing the attrition rate for women and men associates into parity for five consecutive years, increasing the percentage of women in partnership each year, increasing gender diversity among firm leadership and continuing to add new benefits and programs to advance the careers of the firm’s women lawyers.
Sidley will be recognized for this honor at the Best Law Firms for Women Gala Awards Luncheon and Career Accelerator Summit on October 26.
