The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) named Partner Dan Clivner as a 2019 Rainmaker. This prestigious list recognizes diverse lawyers whose “business acumen, passion and dedication to proactive client development has set them apart as leaders in the legal profession.” Rainmakers must demonstrate a proven record of generating a specific amount of business annually and a strong commitment to community service.
Dan is a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee, managing partner of the greater Los Angeles offices and global co-leader of the firm’s M&A and Private Equity practice. He is also a leader and mentor in the LGBTQ community – both within the legal profession and in local and national organizations. Dan recently helped launch a new professional development series that gives students and Sidley associates opportunities to network with successful LGBTQ lawyers in the business community.
In addition, Dan is a member of the Williams Institute Legal Council at UCLA Law School, the nation’s leading independent research center on sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy. He is a member of the executive committee of the Board of Public Counsel, the largest pro bono law firm in the nation, and formerly served as director of APLA Healthcare (then known as AIDS Project Los Angeles).
