Crain’s Chicago Business recognized three Sidley lawyers in its 2021 “Notable Gen X Leaders in Accounting, Consulting, and Law” list of professionals “at the peak of their careers” who “are sure to continue their influence for many years to come.” Honorees were selected for their significant leadership positions inside and outside their firms, their power to effect change, and their impact on Chicago’s business community. They were also commended for serving as mentors and role models for younger lawyers. Profiled in the publication’s list were the following Sidley partners:
Brian Fahrney (Mergers and Acquisitions) was recognized for his leadership within Sidley, as a global co-leader of the M&A and Private Equity group, and a member of the Management and Executive Committees. In his practice, he leads complex, multidisciplinary strategic M&A transactions, including a number of recent headline deals. He also advises companies and their boards on SEC and corporate governance matters. His clients include GE, Synchrony Financial, Churchill Downs, Western & Southern Financial, Glencore, and McDonald’s. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Garrett Institute of the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
Jaime Jones (Healthcare) was honored for her representation of the country’s largest healthcare providers and global life sciences companies in government enforcement, regulatory, and compliance risk matters. She also assists private equity investors in evaluating opportunities in the healthcare and life sciences industries. She co-leads Sidley’s Healthcare practice and is a member of its Global Life Sciences leadership council. Jaime sits on the board of Legal Aid Chicago and on the Legal Advisory Board of World Business Chicago.
Kristen Seeger (Securities and Shareholder Litigation) was selected for her work focusing on high-stakes cases and investigations. She represents companies, executives, and corporate boards in sensitive securities and shareholder litigation, board investigations, and SEC enforcement. She’s treasurer and past board chair of Mujeres Latinas en Acción, which supports survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Kristen also serves on the board of directors of The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, supporting its life-saving work, and is a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow.
