Sidley is proud to be participating in the inaugural “Law in Technology Diversity Collaborative,” a diversity program announced in early 2019 in which first-year law students split a summer internship between a Bay Area tech company and a law firm. Sidley is partnering with Hewlett Packard Enterprise on the initiative this summer; in addition to Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the tech companies participating in the Diversity Collaborative are eBay, Facebook, LendingClub, Symantec, Turo and Uber.
The Collaborative offers law students the unique opportunity of gaining in-house experience, in addition to an introduction to law firms with the goal of expanding the students’ professional networks and leadership opportunities, while bringing more diverse talent to the profession.
Lawyers from the firm’s Palo Alto and San Francisco offices attended the kickoff reception in San Francisco in May 2019, where they welcomed the interns and participating tech companies and firms. Sidley is thrilled to team up with participating tech companies and law firms to promote diversity in law.
