ATHENA AHERRERA is a managing associate in the firm’s corporate group, where she focuses her practice on private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions, as well as capital markets and corporate governance matters.
Athena maintains an active pro bono practice and also works with the National Immigration Justice Center to help asylees and refugees obtain lawful permanent resident status in the United States.
Athena served as President of the Student Bar Association at Notre Dame Law School, overseeing and managing various student committees and organizations. Athena simultaneously completed a two-year MBA program from Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business while in law school and also served as communications editor for the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics, & Public Policy.
Athena values diversity and inclusion and was a 1L Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) scholar for a financial services corporation and international law firm.
Athena received the Captain William McLean Award, Notre Dame Law School’s Community Citizenship Award, which is given to the member of the student body who has made the greatest contribution to the lives of Notre Dame Law School students and in making Notre Dame Law School a better place.
