AUSTRALIA ALBA is an associate in the Tax group in the firm’s New York office.
Australia is an international lawyer with parallel law degrees in the civil-law and common-law systems. She focuses her practice on both domestic and international tax issues related to structured notes and securities offerings. Prior to joining Sidley, Australia obtained her LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center and worked as a judicial law clerk at the Probate Division of the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida.
Australia earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. While attending law school, Australia served as an editor of the University of Miami Race & Social Justice Law Review and participated in the International Arbitration Moot Court Program. Australia holds an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she was the recipient of the Exemplary Pro Bono Service Award for her commitment to volunteer legal services for the poor and disadvantaged. She received her bachelor of laws from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, graduating with honors (magna cum laude).
