FEDERICO DE LA TORRE is an international lawyer in the Capital Markets and M&A groups in the firm’s New York office.
Federico focuses his practice on advising domestic and foreign clients on a broad range of commercial and transactional work, including private, public, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and general corporate matters.
Prior to joining Sidley, Federico worked at a prominent law firm in Mexico, focusing primarily on transactional work, including real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and initial public offerings of Mexican Fideicomisos de Inversión y Bienes Raíces (FIBRAs). His clients included local and foreign banks, private equity firms, FIBRAs, investment bankers, real estate firms, and retail companies, among others.
Federico earned his LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 2020, where he graduated with honors as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Prior to that, he obtained his Bachelor of Laws (magna cum laude) from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey in 2015.
He is a native Spanish speaker.
