KUNLE DERU focuses his practice on U.S. and global debt and equity securities offerings by U.S. and non-U.S. issuers, as well as general corporate matters. He represents issuers and underwriters in private and public offerings of senior and subordinated, investment grade and high yield debt securities (including medium-term note programs), convertible and exchangeable securities, common securities (including at-the-market offering programs), preferred securities and hybrid (and other structured) securities. Kunle also advises on SEC reporting and disclosure matters. He has represented clients on matters involving various industries, including financial services, REITs and consumer products.
Prior to initially joining the firm, Kunle was an associate at a prominent law firm in Lagos, Nigeria, where he focused on general corporate, tax and litigation matters.
Kunle earned his law degrees from Columbia Law School (LL.M.), where he co-founded the African Law Students Association, and the Faculty of Law of the University of Lagos, Nigeria (LL.B.), where he was the President of the law students’ association.
