EMILY E. FOUNTAIN is an associate in the Commercial Litigation and Disputes group in the New York office. Emily has also worked on matters in the Securities & Derivatives Enforcement & Regulatory practice.
Prior to joining Sidley, Emily taught English and International Relations for Teach for America, where she served on an advisory committee to help fellow teachers create rigorous classroom content.
Emily received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was the managing editor of development for the New York University Annual Survey of American Law. During law school, Emily served as an extern for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York and a legal fellow for Oxfam America. Emily received her B.A. in political science and B.A. in journalism from the University of Georgia, where she received the George M. Abney Award for having achieved the most impressive record for journalism within the honors program and the 2012 Center for Undergraduate Research best paper award in the category of civic responsibility. She also holds a Master of Arts in teaching from Marian University.
