KELLY GRAVES is Pro Bono Counsel for the firm’s New York office. In this role, Kelly oversees and directs the New York pro bono program, which includes an array of matters and initiatives ranging from impact litigation, to assistance for non-profits and small businesses in underserved communities, to immigration, domestic violence, education, and family law matters, among others. Kelly works with our Pro Bono Committee to guide our strategy and to develop and enhance partnerships with legal service organizations and clients throughout the greater Metropolitan area.
Prior to joining Sidley, Kelly served in the U.S. Department of Justice, first as a Trial Attorney in the Criminal Division, Fraud Section, in Miami, and then as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. Kelly also clerked for the Honorable Joseph F. Bianco, then United States District Judge for the Eastern District of New York and currently on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and as a litigation associate at an international law firm, where she focused her practice on white collar criminal defense and internal investigations. She received her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2008 and her B.A. from the University of Virginia in 2005, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
