JASON MARSICO is a senior managing associate in the Employment and Labor group in Chicago. Jason litigates on behalf of employers in class and collective actions, as well as in single- and multiple-plaintiff cases, involving a diverse array of labor and employment issues. Jason regularly handles litigation issues related to non-competition clauses and other restrictive covenants, contractual disputes, wage and hour, employment discrimination, retaliation and harassment. He also frequently provides counseling to clients on a range of employment issues and assists employers in drafting employment documents, including employment contracts, non-competition agreements and confidentiality agreements.
Jason is experienced in representing clients throughout the stages of litigation, including administrative proceedings, motions practice, discovery and appeals. He regularly drafts dispositive motions and has experience preparing for and taking depositions.
Jason maintains an active pro bono practice focusing on matters before the Supreme Court of the United States, working on merits and amicus curiae briefs in, among other cases, Voisine v. United States, 136 S. Ct. 2272, 579 U.S. __, (2016), and Gill v. Whitford, 138 S. Ct. 1916 (2018).
Prior to joining Sidley, Jason served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas M. Hardiman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Jason received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law, where he was a notes editor on the Northwestern Law Review. While at Northwestern, Jason worked in the school’s Supreme Court Clinic and was a legal extern to the Honorable Edmond E. Chang of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He attended Northwestern on the John Henry Wigmore full-tuition merit scholarship. Jason received his B.S. in Finance, summa cum laude, from Miami University.
