BRIAN TOBIN is a senior managing associate in the litigation group of Sidley’s Los Angeles office. He maintains a broad based commercial litigation practice, and is experienced in complex financial services litigation, restructuring litigation, and defense of consumer class action claims. Brian has experience managing large-scale discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting matter dispositive briefing, and conducting oral argument before trial and appellate courts. He maintains an active pro bono practice, including inmate civil rights litigation and capital post-conviction litigation through the Capital Litigation Project. Brian is a 2018 recipient of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois’ Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service.
Brian received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering. During law school, he was active in clinical programs focused on criminal post-conviction and environmental litigation. Prior to law school, Brian worked as an internal business consultant and operations manager.
