Sidley partners Chad S. Hummel and Debra E. Pole have been named to Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2022 “Leaders of Influence: Litigators and Trial Lawyers” list. The annual supplement celebrates the Los Angeles litigators who “go to the proverbial mat to fight for their clients before judges and jury.”
Chad is a partner based in Sidley’s Century City office and a member of the Commercial Litigation and Disputes, Antitrust/Competition, and White Collar practices. He is also a co-leader of the firm’s national trial practice. Throughout his three decades in private practice, Chad has litigated and tried some of the nation’s highest profile civil and criminal cases in federal and state courts throughout the country, successfully defending mission-critical and “bet-the-company” matters and achieving multiple eight-figure verdicts and judgments on behalf of plaintiffs he has represented. His verdicts have been listed among the top defense and plaintiff-side matters in California.
Debra is a partner in the Litigation group in Sidley’s office in Los Angeles and a former member of the firm’s Executive Committee. She trains, supervises, and manages a number of lawyers and paraprofessionals in the Products Liability and Mass Torts practice. Ms. Pole is recognized globally as a leader in the products liability area and is a seasoned trial lawyer with experience in multidistrict litigation, class actions, and products liability litigation. She has extensive jury trial experience in both federal and state courts involving mass tort litigation, class actions, complex litigation, and Daubert proceedings.
